Britain-wide project with a performance in London, 2016
A choir meet for the first time to sing about living with strangers.
Through a series of workshops in Britain’s largest urban centres, we gathered material about the joys and fragilities of urban living. Moving through crowds of strangers the whole time can be difficult, and it can be beautiful. The resulting song was learned by fifty singers from across the country, between them demographically representative of the population of urban Britain. The first time they met was to sing together.
